SCREENING, KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP PLANNED

The Freeman School District, in cooperation with the Cornbelt Educational Cooperative and Head Start, is pleased to announce a preschool screening scheduled for Monday, July 27 in the morning and Tuesday, July 28 for all children ages 3 to 5 years old.

Those with children between the ages of birth and 2 years, 11 months old who want a developmental screening completed should contact Holly Mosterd at holly.mosterd@k12.sd.us.

The screening is the responsibility of the local school district and will be provided at no cost to all participating children. Children must have a scheduled appointment to attend.

Kindergarten Roundup

Those with children who will be five years old by Sept. 1, 2020 are invited to the school’s Kindergarten Roundup to register for the 2020-2021 school year on Monday, July 27 or Tuesday, July 28. Twenty-minute appointments will be scheduled. Please email Malynda.Penner@k12.sd.us to set up an appointment to meet with the kindergarten teacher and become acquainted with Freeman Elementary. 

Listed below are the records needed before the first day of school. Those with the following records in their possession should bring them to Kindergarten Roundup:

• A copy of your child’s state issued birth certificate

• A copy of their social security card

• Immunization record updated as required by state
