RESIDENTS SHOULD WATER DURING NIGHT
Freeman residents who water their lawns are being asked to do so in the evening/at night rather than during the day. More water was used on Monday then city water reserves can handle (37 feet dropped to 19 feet); the reserves are being utilized during the city’s 45-day water tower maintenance project.
Meeting Monday night, July 13, city officials said a three-day trial will begin Tuesday, July 14. If water levels continue to drop at an alarming pace, the city will ban lawn watering until after the water tower maintenance is completed.
“We’re just using too much water,” councilor Lonnie Tjaden said. “We’ve got 45 days of this.”
