2020 FREEMAN WINTER FAIR CANCELED
Organizers of the Freeman Winter Fair, a craft and vendor show that has been held annually since 1977 as a way to support local causes and projects, have announced they are canceling this year’s event because of COVID-19. The Winter Fair was scheduled for Oct. 31.
“This was not an easy decision, but we as a board felt what was necessary had to be done,” Gladys Simantel wrote in a statement, noting it was in the “best interest” of the vendors and larger community to cancel. “We may look at something in spring, but will wait to see what happens.”
The statement also noted that “we will miss hosting this; we loved seeing the vendors and the community come together and always appreciate the many donations of food, time and money.”
Those with questions are asked to contact a member of the board, which in addition to Simantel includes Kelli Broders, Kathy Hendrix, Janette Ryken and Peg Waltner.
