The football field at the Freeman Public Schools campus is lit up for the Sept. 5 homecoming game pitting Canistota/Freeman against Oldham-Ramonda/Rutland. It was a fitting end to a festive and fun week in Freeman as the top-ranked 9A Pride easily handled the Raiders, jumping ahead to a 24-0 lead early in the second quarter before coming away with a 40-6 win. Canistota/Freeman improves to 3-0 and will face a tough game against Howard next week. The Raiders drop to 2-1.
