ENROLLMENT IN MENNO UP TO 294
JEREMY WALTNER – PUBLISHER
Enrollment at Menno High School is as high as it has been in at least the last six school years. According to numbers provided by the business office at Menno Public School, Pre K-12 enrollment stood at 294 at the beginning of the school year. That’s an increase of 19 students over the start of the 2019-2020 term. Enrollment numbers include students who are enrolled at both Jamesville Colony and Maxwell Colony, which are both in the Menno School District.
Class sizes at the elementary level increased in the Pre-K and kindergarten classrooms, as well as grades 1, 2 and 4. The only decreases in class size came in the eighth grade, junior and senior classrooms.
All attendence centers in the Menno district increased in enrollment with the exception of the high school, which saw a drop from 74 to 73. Still, the high school is larger than the four-year average from 2015-2019.
The sophomores boast the largest class size at 26 while the smallest sized classrooms in the district are in grades 1, 2 and 3, which each includes 11 students.
The average class size in grades pre-K through the seniors is 15.
At 23 students, Jamesville Colony has the highest enrollment in at least six years while Maxwell Colony is educating 61 students — just above the previous five-year average of 58.
