This was the view from above during the Labor Day old-fashioned plowing bee two miles north of Freeman Monday, Sept. 7. More than a dozen tractors and plows turned up about 40 acres of soil in a field owned by Steve Friesen, which had been most recently used for oats. The Labor Day plowing been has been a tradition in the immediate Freeman area for many years.
