FLYERS TAKE DOWN WOLVES 3-1

Freeman Public bounced back from a 25-16 loss in the first set to take down Menno 3-1 in Cornbelt Conference volleyball action in Freeman Thursday night, Sept. 24. The Flyers beat the Wolves 16-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18.

Rijjy Peterson had 15 kills and 25 digs to lead Freeman and Mesa Mehlhaf had eight kills. Ava Ammann balanced the offensive attack with 23 set assists and 14 digs and Lily Wipf had three aces for the Flyers. Kate Miller contributed six kills and 12 digs.

For the Wolves. Jesse Munkvold had four kills and 19 digs while Bridget Vaith had four kills and five blocks. Kylie Harriman had eight set assists and 12 digs, Kaylie Schempp had 12 digs and Grace Nusz contributed three aces.

The Flyers improved to 6-4 while the Wolves dropped to 3-7.

Freeman plays at the Sandford Pentagon on Saturday, Sept. 26 and the Wolves host Andes Central/Dakota Christian Monday, Sept. 28.
