FLYERS MOVE TO 13-7, BEARCATS DROP TO 0-11

Freeman Public remains undefeated in October and now stands at 13-6 after a 3-1 win over Hanson at Alexandria Tuesday night, Oct. 20. The Flyers beat the Beavers (5-13) 25-19, 25-18, 16-25, 25-9 behind 16 kills, 23 digs and five aces from senior Rijjy Peterson. Kate Miller added seven kills, 12 digs and a pair of aces, Mesa Mehlhaf had six kills, and Cara Maske and Ava Ammann shared the set assists with 18 and 15, respectively. The Flyers also got 16 digs from Erin Uecker and four kills and 10 digs from Oddy Pankratz.

Also Tuesday night, Freeman Academy/Marion lost to Alcester-Hudson 25-3, 25-9, 25-7 and dropped to 0-11. The Cubs improved to 12-11. Alexa Gortmaker, Clara Montero and Leah Goodwin each had a kill for the Bearcats and Zenovia Butler led the way with seven digs and a kill. Maria Cortes had two set assists.
