Gail Hagemann: 1933-2020

Gail Hagemann went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 3, 2020. He was born Jan. 17, 1933 on the home farm near Winfred, S.D. to Edward and Gretchen (Morris) Hagemann. He grew up with nine brothers and sisters. They were Linda, Farrold, Elvera, Arthy, O’Dell, Gail, Dan, Gretchen, Marlyn and Lindon. Only living are Dan, Gretchen and Marlyn now.

Gail attended grade school and then attended high school. After this, he went onto join the US Army and served in the Korean War for three years. He was honorably discharged and returned to the US. He then attended Dakota State in Madison, S.D. He received his Bachelor’s, after which he was a Math and Chemistry teacher. Later, also went into mechanics working on cars, etc. This was what he liked best.

Gail and Evelyn were married on November 25, 1966 and have two sons, Edward and Timothy. Also have two daughters-in-law, Linda and Sarah. Three grandchildren, Melanie, Madison and Matthew. Many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.

Gail was a member of the EMB Church near Marion, S.D. He served as a Sunday School teacher and on the church board. He was a member of the Gideon Organization and served as a chaplain for several years.

We rejoice that we have God’s promise to see him in Heaven as we gather there to be with our Lord and Savior. What a great Hope we all have.

Any gift may be given to the Gideon Organization or the Salem Mennonite Home Building Fund.

Private committal services were held Friday, Nov. 6 at Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Marion.
