Mark Hyronemus: 1957-2020

Mark Hyronemus, 63, of Worthing, S.D., died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at the Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Mark Edward Hyroneums was born Aug. 24, 1957 at Sioux Falls, the son of George and Juliette (Stoller) Hyronemus. He grew up attending school in Worthing and then Lennox High School. In 1975 he entered the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a diesel mechanic. His service took him to various parts of the world including stations in Tokyo, Japan and North Carolina, until his honorable discharge in 1979.

On Dec. 13, 1986 he was united in marriage to Joy Schneiderman at the Delaware Reformed Church. The couple made their home in Worthing. Mark worked as a service technician in commercial kitchen equipment repair, first for Coke, for 15 years and for the past 15 years at Reinhart Food Service. His death ended a marriage union of just over 34 years.

Mark was a member of the Delaware Reformed Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He liked operating radio control aircraft, fishing and fixing computers. He had an interest in railroad locomotives and planning all the family vacations. When Mark was not umpiring his daughter’s ball games, he was in the stand cheering loudly. Mark was an outgoing, friendly person, who could talk to anyone and did. Most of all he deeply loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, George, sister, Rev. Shari Renolds, father-in-law, Merrill Schneiderman and sister-in-law, Christy Orth.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Joy; daughters: Amber Hyronemus, Worthing and Brittany Hyronemus (fiancé Tony Turner), Green Ridge, MO.; his mother, Juliette Hyronemus, Worthing; siblings: David (Cindy) Hyronemus, Sioux Falls, Tami (Mike) Lappegard, Alcester, S. D. and Gail (Mike) Ihnen, Elk Grove, Ill.; uncle, Walter Stoller, Rockford, Ill. As well as other relatives and host of friends.

Services were held at Delaware Reformed Cemetery, Lennox, S.D. on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020. Interment is at Lennox Cemetery, Lennox.
