NEW: CITY TO TALK MAIN STREET; A LINK TO THE MEETING
JEREMY WALTNER – PUBLISHER
The Freeman City Council was expected to hear more about the pending Main Street project at its second meeting of the month Wednesday evening, March 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The agenda shows Paul Korn of Sayer Associates updating city officials on what is expected to be a $3 million capital project that would see the downtown roadway rebuilt from Fifth Street north to the North County Road, and also from Railway west to Juniper.
The council was expected to hear about and discuss street width, traffic speed, streetscaping, lighting and landscaping options. The timeline laid out in previous discussions with Korn shows council decisions and public meetings through the summer, bids going out in fall and construction taking place from April to October of 2022.
