PHOTO OF THE DAY: WET DELIGHT

Standing water is something the community hasn’t seen in a while but woke to Friday morning, June 11 following a shot of much-needed moisture. About three-quarters of an inch fell locally, some rural areas saw more and the Menno community is reporting 1.30. It wasn’t the slow soaker than would have been ideal to stave off critically dry conditions, but the early-morning rain certainly helped. Friday will see cooler temperatures, too, but highs are expected to return to the 90s this weekend and next week — with no additional moisture in the near future.
