PHOTO OF THE DAY: SIGN OFF
This was the scene at Heritage Hall Museum & Archives in Freeman Thursday morning. Facilities manager Brian Skinner and board president Donovan Friesen removed the large black letters that have identified the museum for more than four decades. This is preparation for a major facelift that will include paint – a new color scheme that will replace the original “yellow-gold-greenish” exterior that’s been around since 1975 – and a new sign to welcome guests. A grant from the Freeman Community Foundation is helping make this upgrade possible. The museum will remain open during the project 9-4 weekdays and 1-4 weekends. And the museum has extended its Saturday hours in conjunction with the July 10 SD MCC Relief Sale at the neighboring Prairie Arboretum.
