PHOTO OF THE DAY: A PACKED HOUSE

This was the scene around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31 at the South Dakota Chislic Festival and tells the story of the third event of its kind. Thousands descended on the Freeman Prairie Arboretum for the festival during its 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. run, with chislic and beer the stars of the show. But there were also other food and non-food vendors, activities for children, bean bags and live music, all of which played out on a gorgeous summer day. Festival organizers were elated with both the turnout and the response from attendees and vendors alike; watch for a full report in the upcoming edition of The Courier.
