PHOTO OF THE DAY: OPENING CEREMONY

This was the scene Sunday evening, Aug. 22 as Freeman Academy held its traditional opening convocation in anticipation of the new school year. The private school that opened as South Dakota Mennonite College in 1903 and today serves students in grades K-12 will begin its 2021-22 term Wednesday morning, Aug. 25. Sunday’s convocation was held on the school’s campus between Pioneer Hall and Memorial Hall, typically referred to as the administration building.
