PHOTO OF THE DAY: DECORATION DAY
Freeman High School sophomores Cami Fransen, left, and Rylee Gossen paint tin cans that will be used as part of the class float, “Fourth of July,” in Friday’s homecoming parade. The class is using the slogan, “The Pride is going to blast the Eagles away” — a nod to this afternoon’s football game against Irene-Wakonda that starts at 3 p.m. It will feature a rocket aimed at a goalpost. It’s not the best day for a Homecoming Friday; the morning broke with a heavy fog and rain, although the moisture has subsided and it looks like dry conditions will prevail. The parade begins at 12 p.m. near the community center and will make it’s way south on Main Street before returning to the school.
