KOERNER WINS REGION 3B TITLE; FA/MARION BOYS 2ND

Freeman Academy junior Jada Koerner ran away with the individual goal medal as Freeman hosted the Region 3B Cross-Country Meet on a windy Wednesday, Oct. 13 at Valley View Golf Course. Her time of 20:33.14 was 11 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

The Freeman Academy/Marion boys had a good day, too, finishing second in the team standings and nearly knocking off favorite Kimball/White Lake. The Bearcats saw a third- and fourth-place finish from Tavin Schroeder and Malachi Myers and an 11th place finish from Finley McConniel, bringing their team points to 18. Kimball/White Lake won with 15.

Also qualifying for state at Wednesday’s meet was:

Freeman Public’s Rylee Peters and Peyton McCune;

Menno’s Ashton Massey and Kadeyn Ulmer.
