PHOTO OF THE DAY: BACK IN ACTION

Basketball teams from Freeman Academy/Marion, Freeman Public and Menno all return to action this week following the holiday break. Here’s a look ahead.

Thursday, Jan. 6: The Freeman girls host Bridgewater-Emery with the JV girls starting at 6:15 p.m. Menno also hosts a doubleheader against Mitchell Christian; both the JV girls and boys will play at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity girls and, finally, the varsity boys;

Friday, Jan. 7: The Freeman boys and Menno boys and girls are all in action. The Flyers will travel to Bridgewater-Emery (at Emery, 6:15 JV start) while the Wolves are at Alcester-Hudson for a doubleheader (at Alcester, 5 p.m. JV start).

Saturday, Jan. 8: Freeman Academy/Marion hosts Mitchell Christian in a doubleheader in Marion, with the boys varsity starting at 1 p.m., followed by the girls varsity and then the JV boys and girls. Freeman Public is also in action on Saturday as part of the Dakota State University Classic at Madison; the Flyers will play St. Francis Indian at noon.
