SCHMECKFEST FOOD SALES MARCH 26, APRIL 2

The Freeman Academy Auxiliary has announced alternative plans for the 2022 Schmeckfest activities originally scheduled for the last two weekends in March.

At this time, the FA Auxiliary Executive Committee continues to be aware and concerned about the health of volunteers and community members. Therefore, a decision has been made to revise this year’s event to include a walk-in Country Kitchen along with the traditional sausage sales. In addition, a limited number of tickets will be available for a carry-out “mini” Schmeckfest meal including some of the traditional German favorites. The dates have been set for two Saturdays, March 26 and April 2.

The auxiliary will be asking for donations of ethnic foods and baked goods and has scheduled work days to make items to sell at the Country Kitchen in the coming weeks.

Watch the Courier, Facebook and the Schmeckfest website for more information on ordering tickets for the carry-out meal and ways to help out with this fundraising event.

Work days scheduled

The Auxiliary will hold cheese pocket work days Feb. 18-19; they will be sold at the walk-in Country Kitchen on March 26 and April 2.

Volunteers are needed to help with prep work on Friday, Feb. 18 after 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 will be a full day, starting at 9 a.m. Please bring your own snacks and a sack lunch.

Workers would be greatly appreciated and bring a friend. Whether you are a pro or someone new making cheese pockets, come enjoy time cooking and visiting together. Those willing to make cheese pockets at home are encouraged to do so.

Additional work days will be held in March. Contact Kathy Kleinsasser, at 925-7952 for more information.
