TSCHETTER FINISHES 2ND AT REGION 2B WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

Freeman eighth grader Riley Tschetter will compete in his second State Wrestling Tournament after finishing second in the 132 lb. division of the Region 2B Wrestling Tournament in Freeman Saturday, Feb. 19.

Tschetter, who entered the tournament with a 37-17 record and the second seed, had a first-round bye and then defeated Parker freshman Michael Even (40-25) by fall at 3:22. That put him into the finals, where he lost to Canton junior Kale Ask (30-2) by fall at 5:15.

Marion/Freeman’s Owen Eitemiller, a junior from Menno, also qualified for state by finishing fourth in the 152 lb. division.
