NOTE 3-WAY STOP SIGN AT FIFTH AND MAIN

A third stop sign is now in place at the intersection of Fifth & Main in Freeman, impacting westbound traffic. The Freeman City Council chose to convert the intersection to a three-way stop to enhance safety due to limited visibility. Motorists coming from the east on Fifth Street will notice the stop sign and flag located near Mr. G’s.

While southbound traffic on Main Street continues to have the right-of-way at the intersection, vehicles in all other directions must come to a complete stop before continuing through the intersection. As always, when multiple vehicles are stopped at the intersection, he first to come to a full stop will be the first to legally proceed through the intersection.

The sign was installed on March 3 and Freeman’s Police Department is offering a 2-week grace period before issuing citations that carry fines.
