SCHOOL BOARD TO HIRE TSCHETTER AS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

According to the agenda posted at the Freeman Public Schools website, Dustin Tschetter will be named the head football coach for the new Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy football team when the school board meets in regular session Monday night, April 11.

Austin Unruh will be named an assistant, according to the agenda. 

The meeting will also include the revealing of the team’s mascot, which students in grades K-12 from all three schools voted on last week. The list of six included Mavericks, Phoenix, Raptors, Royals, Trailblazers and Vipers, which was then narrowed to three for a final vote between Mavericks, Phoenix and Trailblazers. 

F/M/FA will play in Class 9AA and is part of the Great Plains Conference. The 2022 schedule is as follows; conference games are denoted with an asterisk. All games begin at 7 p.m. with the exception of the Sept. 23 homecoming game, which starts at 3 p.m.
