FAM TRACK: SCHROEDER LEADS BOYS TO WIN AT CENTERVILLE

Competing in their second track meet of the season, the Freeman Academy/Marion boys won at the Centerville Relays held under bluster conditions Tuesday, April 12, while the Bearcat girls finished fourth in the nine-team competition.

The boys won over Webster Area 120 to 113 and were paced by Tavin Schoreder, who won both the 1600 and 3200; Dylan Johansen, who won the discus; Thalen Schoreder, who won the high jump; and the 3200 relay team of Malachi Myers, Finley McConniel, Seth Balzer and Thalen Schroeder, who finished first by 13 seconds.

The FAM girls were led by Jada Koerner’s win in the 1600 and the 400 and 800 relay teams of Alivea Weber, Alexa Gortmaker, Emma McConniel and Sonora Myers, which both finished first.

Here are all the place-winners from Freeman Academy/Marion at Centerville:

100 – Keaton Preheim 3rd, 11.6

200 – Preheim 2nd, 23.6

400 – Quincy Blue 4th, 55.5

3200 – Schroeder 1st, 11:08.9; Malachi Myers 2nd, 11:22.9; McConniel 4th, 11:43.4

400 relay (Darion Fore, Jose Lastra, Oscar Barrera, Preheim) 3rd, 50.2

800 relay (Fore, Lastra, Barrera, Ortman) 5th, 1:48

1600 relay (Seth Balzer, Ortman, Thalen Schroeder, Blue) 3rd, 3:55.5

3200 relay (Myers, McConniel, Balzer, Thalen Schroeder) 1st, 9:10.7

Sprint medley (Preheim, Blaer, Lastra, Barrera) 5th, 4:16

Shot put – Dylan Johansen 3rd, 41-11 ½

Discus – Johansen 1st, 138-3

High jump – Thalen Schroeder 1st, 5-10
