MENNO TRACK: BOYS 2ND, GIRLS 3RD AT SCOTLAND

Menno was the only local team to compete the first week of April when the Wolves took part in the Scotland Invitational Tuesday, April 5.

And Menno did well, with the girls finishing third and the boys as the runner-up in the eight-school meet (nine including the McCrossan boys).

Individual winners were, for the girls, Ashton Massey in the triple jump and Raygen Diede in the shot put. For the boys, Bryce Sattler was a champion in the high jump and was part of the winning sprint medley team that also included Trent Guthmiller, Owen Eitemiller and Kadeyn Ulmer.

Menno’s 3200 relay team of Ulmer, Cody Munkvold, Chris Kessler and Isaac Fergen also won.

Here are all of Menno’s place-winners:

GIRLS

800 – Zoe Schaeffer 4th, 2:50.36

1600 – Ashlynn Fergen 7th, 6:44.12; Ellyana Ulmer 8th, 6:56.55

3200 – Fergen 3rd, 17:26.73

100 hurdles – Ashton Massey 2nd, 17.62; Bridget Vaith 3rd, 18.58; Kaelie Derby 4th, 18.61

400 relay (Maggie Miller, Julia Buechler, Kylie Guthmiller, Elly Fischer) 8th, 1:00.87

800 relay (Derby, Vaith, Miller, Buechler) 7th, 2:09.61

1600 relay (Massey, Schaeffer, Derby, Buechler) 3rd, 4:46.85

3200 relay (Schaeffer, Ulmer, Ervin Schrock, Fergen) 3rd, 12:08.32

Sprint medley (Buechler, Josephine Stokes, Madison Schaeffer, Ulmer) 7th, 5:25.16

High jump – Lexie McNinch 8th, 4-0

Triple jump – Massey 1st, 32-7 ½; Vaith 6th, 31-3 ¾; Stokes 8th, 28-4

Shot put – Raygen Diede 1st, 38-3
