Marvin D. Glanzer: 1943-2022

Marvin David Glanzer, 79, of Woodstock, Ga., passed away Friday May 6, 2022 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born March 2, 1943 to the late Sam and Sarah Glanzer, Marvin was raised in Freeman, S.D. He had been a resident of Woodstock for the past 30 years where he served as a teacher and deacon at First Baptist Church of Woodstock. Mr. Glanzer was a hard-working man who helped many people throughout his life and had successful careers with 3M, Sony and Allstate Insurance. Marvin was a devoted husband, loving father, and was always kind-hearted and generous to everyone.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, DeLila Glanzer of Woodstock; children: Selwyn (Sheila) Glanzer of Dawsonville, Ga., Shawn (Kelly) Glanzer of Matthews, N.C., Marci (Jay) Barr of Canton, Ga., and Sherlyn (Garth) Tschetter of Denver, Colo.; sister, Lucille Graber of Marion, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford (Donna) Glanzer of Howard, S.D.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Fred Graber and sister-in-law, Madeline Glanzer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Woodstock. Rev. Shannon Salyer will officiate. Mr. Glanzer will lie in state in the chapel and the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
