TRAPPERS BLANKED BY BLACKHAWKS IN 11-MAN ACTION

The Jim River Trappers were held to just 76 yards of total offense on an average of 2.1 yards per play, and two touchdowns in the first half by Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central was all the Blackhawks needed to come away with a 14-0 win in 11-man action Friday night, Aug. 26.

The win improved W/WS/SC to 1-1 while the Trappers fell to 0-2.

Ajay Herrboldt led Jim River with 41 yards on 10 carries and Logan Sayler returned a pair of kickoffs for a total of 47 yards. The Trappers were without a turnover while Blackhawks turned the ball over twice, but Jim River recorded just five first downs to W/WS/SC’s 16, which is reflected in the time of possession — 31:56 to 16:04.

The Trappers will host Miller/Highmore-Harrold (1-1) in Menno Friday night, Sept. 2.
