NO. 1 TIGERS TOO MUCH FOR PHOENIX

Top-ranked and defending Class 9AA champion Howard proved to be too much for Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy as the Tigers (5-0) routed the Phoenix (3-1) 51-0 in Howard Friday night, Sept. 16.

Freshman quarterback Riley Tschetter threw for 112 yards on 18-of-30 passing and senior Maddox Kihne caught seven passes for 52 yards. Junior Rocky Ammann led the defensive effort with five solo tackles and three assists.

The Phoenix host Colome (2-2) next Friday afternoon for Freeman’s homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.

Also Friday night, the Jim River Trappers defeated Baltic 31-6 in Baltic, moving to 2-3 on the season. The Bulldogs dropped to 0-5. Stats will be posted when they are available.
