PHOTO OF THE DAY: INSTANT CLASSIC

Freeman Mayor Michael Walter is just moments away from cutting the ribbon spanning the new downtown roadway late Friday morning, Sept. 23 as part of the ceremonial reopening of Main Street. The ribbon-cutting was done in conjunction with the Freeman High School homecoming parade and co-hosted by Freeman Public Schools and the Freeman Community Development Corporation with support from the city of Freeman. Pictured are, from left, councilor Charly Waltner; Cole Gebhart, on-site project engineer with Sayre Associates; Paul Korn of Sayre Associates; Mayor Walter; council president Blaine Saarie; Carol Eisenbeis, development and marketing coordinator with the city of Freeman; council vice president Tabitha Schoenwald; councilor Elizabeth Waltner; and Freeman Public Superintendent/FCDC representative Jake Tietje. Not pictured is city councilor Charles Gering, who was taking part in the parade that followed the ribbon-cutting, and councilor Lonnie Tjaden, who was part of the color guard.
