PHOTO OF THE DAY: FOR KOBEE

Some of the 60-plus members of the Freeman Public track team stand on the sidelines cheering on others running for Viborg-Hurley junior Kobee Sherman as part of a “Run for Kobee” fundraiser Thursday afternoon, April 5. It came just weeks after Kobee was diagnosed with bone cancer and was made possible thanks to the support of local residents, businesses and organizations who offered to pledge money based on the number of laps run during a one-hour period — from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. All told, Freeman Public track athletes ran 610 laps collectively; with pledges still coming in, the final amount won’t be known until next week, and the Flyers will present a check to the Sherman family at the Flyer Invitational on Thursday, April 20.
