UPDATE ON HOME TRACK MEETS IN FREEMAN, MENNO

Wet, windy, cold and snowy weather prompted Freeman Public school officials to cancel the Flyer Invitational scheduled for last week Thursday, April 20 (it will not be rescheduled), but a number of home track meets are on the schedule in the days to come.

Erv Ptak Relays

Menno will host its second track meet of the year this week Thursday, April 27 when the varsity-only Erv Ptak Relays comes to the Jim Woehl Athletic Complex. Twelve teams, including Freeman Academy/Marion but not Freeman Public, are scheduled to compete in the meet, which begins with field events at 1 p.m. and continues with running events starting at 3 p.m.

Menno will also host its middle school Menno Relays May 8, with field events starting at 1 p.m. and running events set to begin at 3 p.m.

Wizard/Diede relays

Freeman Public will host two track meets next week. The junior high Wizard Relays are set to come to Freeman Monday, May 1 beginning at 2:30 p.m. and the Don Diede Relays are scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, with field events starting at 1 p.m. As of early this week, 13 teams were scheduled to compete in the Wizard Relays while 15 were planning to attend the Don Diede Relays.
