PHOTO OF THE DAY: AFTER THE GAME

This photo was taken following Freeman/Marion’s final out in the Region 7 championship game against Tyndall — a game the Sticks won 9-3 to advance to the South Dakota VFW 14U State Tournament next week in Corsica. The eight-team bracket was released Thursday night and is as follows:

Freeman/Marion will face Corsica-Stickney at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21 followed by Mt. Vernon/Plankinton against Baltic.

The winners will play in the semifinals Saturday at 4 p.m.

The losers will play in the consolation bracket Saturday 11 a.m.

In the other bracket, Parkston will face Selby at 4:15 p.m. on Friday followed by Clark Area against Platte-Geddes.

The winners will play in the semifinals Saturday at 6 p.m.

The losers will play in the consolation bracket Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The winners of the semifinal games will play for the state championship Sunday at 3 p.m.

The losers of the semifinals games will play in the third/fourth-place game Sunday at 1 p.m.

The winners of the consolation games will play for the consolation championship Sunday at 11 a.m.
