BEARCATS DROP TWO AT EARLY BIRD INVITE

Freeman Academy/Marion dropped matches against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket and Andes Central/Dakota Christian on the second and final night of the Hanson Early Bird Invitational in Alexandria Thursday, Aug. 24. The Bearcats lost to the Blackhawks 25-10, 26-25 and to the Thunder 25-22, 25-21 to fall to 0-3 on the season.

Against SC/Woonsocket, Isabelle McConniel had 19 set assists and Emma McConniel had 25 digs. Alexa Gortmaker and Kallie Johnson had 8 and 6 digs, respectively, and I. MConniel and Macy Gortmaker both had 4 digs. No other stats were reported.

Against AC/DC, Gortmaker and Joelle Hawkey each had 3 kills. I. McConniel had 21 set assists and a pair of aces, E. McConniel had 30 digs, and Johnson had 10 digs.

FA/Marion travels to Menno on Aug. 31 for its next match.
