TRAPPERS NIPPED BY RUSTLERS

Miller/Highmore-Harrold scored first and Scotland/Menno answered, but the Rustlers maintained a one-touchdown lead throughout the game en route to a 24-20 win in Menno Friday night, Sept. 1.

The Trappers fell to 0-3 with the loss while M/H-H improved to 1-2.

Scotland/Menno’s touchdowns came on a 38-yard pass from Izayah Ulmer to Bryce Sattler, a 10-yard run by Logan Sayler and a 62-yard pass from Ulmer to Sayler. Sayler successfully carried the  ball for the two-point conversion.

The Trappers, who trailed 8-6 at the half and 16-12 at the end of the third quarter, lost three fumbles and were penalized 13 times for 85 yards.

Ulmer finished with 197 yards on 11-of-27 completions while Sayler led the ground game with 48 yards on 12 carries and also caught three passes for 86 yards.

Kade Odens had a quarterback sack for the Trappers and Jayce Walloch had a 33-yard kickoff return.

Scotland/Menno hosts Mt. Vernon/Plankinton (2-1) in Scotland this Friday (Senior Night).

The Trappers will then host Balic (0-3) on Sept. 15 in Menno for Menno’s homecoming.
