PHOTO OF THE DAY: A THURSDAY THROWBACK

This is several generations removed, but once upon a time the intersection north of Freeman at Highways 81 and 42 — still referred to as Stanely Corner on Google Maps — was a busy little community, with filling stations, tourist cabins and this cafe located on the southeast corner of the intersection. Today, all that remains are trees and a parking area where the cafe was once located.
