RAIDERS EDGE BEARCAT BOYS IN OVERTIME

A game that was close from the start finished in overtime, with Oldham-Ramona-Rutland outlasting the Freeman Academy/Marion boys 75-70 on their home court at Sterling Hall. The win dropped the Bearcats to 1-5 while the Raiders improved to 2-3.

FAM led 11-10 after the first quarter, 28-23 at the half, trailed 46-45 after the third period before winning the final frame by a point to send it into overtime.

Karter Weber had 24 points and Elshadai Mesfin and Liam Ortman each netted 17 points for the Bearcats, who shot 15-for-36 from two-point range and 11-for-53 from behind the arc. Mesfin added 11 rebounds for the double-double while Ortman had four steals.

FAM GIRLS 24, ORR 41

The Freeman Academy/Marion girls also dropped their Tuesday game to Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 41-24, dropping to 1-7 on the season. The Raider girls improved to 2-5.

Karley Luke had seven points and Estelle Waltner had six points and 11 rebounds for the Bearcats.

The FAM boys and girls both play at the Sacred Hoops Classic at the Corn Palace on Saturday. The girls will face Kimball-White Lake at 9 a.m., with the boys playing Parkston at 10:30 a.m.
