BASKETBALL RETURNS — FINALLY — TUESDAY NIGHT

More than a week after extreme winter weather began causing all sorts of problems across the area, schools are back in session today (albeit a late start), and local basketball teams are set to return to the court tonight after an extended delay.

Freeman Academy/Marion, Freeman Public and Menno are all hosting doubleheaders.

• The Bearcats will face Canistota in Marion with the girls JV starting at 4 p.m., followed by the boys JV and then the varsity games. The FA Marion girls are 2-7; Canistota is 4-4. The FA/Marion boys are 1-6; Canistota is 7-0.
• The Flyers will host Centerville with the JV games beginning at 5 p.m. in both gyms. The FHS girls are 6-1; Centerville is ranked No. 1 in Class B with an 8-0 record. The Freeman boys are 3-3; Centerville is 4-2.
• Menno will host Ethan, with JV games beginning at 4:30 p.m. in both gyms. The Menno girls are 0-6; Ethan is is ranked No. 2 in Class B with a 9-1 record. The Menno boys are 0-7; Ethan is 8-2.
