PHOTO OF THE DAY: PHOTO OP!

Freeman native Amber (Stern) Arlint and her youngest son, Braxton, stand with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and Lt. Governor Larry Rhoden at the base of the steps next to the South Dakota Capitol rotunda Thursday, Feb. 1. It was day set aside for legislators to bring their young children to state government headquarters, and Noem and Rhoden made themselves available for those who wanted pictures. Arlint lives in Sioux Falls and is in her second year as a member of the House of Representatives serving District 12 (Lincoln and Minnehaha counties).

Feb. 1 was also NewsMedia Day, an event coordinated by the South Dakota NewsMedia Association (SDNA) that invites editors, publishers and reporters to travel to Pierre for a press conference with legislative leadership and lunch with lawmakers, which is provided by SDNA.
