The Freeman girls led after the first period but trailed by three at the half, only to turn in an outstanding third period fueled by strong shooting from the outside. The Freeman girls connected on 10 three-pointers for the game, led by as many as nine in the second half and made their free-throws late to hold off the Rustlers, whose only other loss this season came against Hanson in the season-opener.

The Flyers travel to Gayville-Volin Thursday night for the final game of the regular season and will take the court next week in Region 4B action. If the bracket holds, Freeman would host Freeman Academy/Marion on Tuesday night.
