MENNO BOYS FINISH SEASON WITH WIN

After trailing the entire game, Menno came back in the fourth quarter to beat Scotland in Scotland in the final game of the regular season Friday night, Feb. 16.

Down 40-36 after three periods, the Wolves won the fourth frame 13-6 to edge the Highlanders 49-46 and finish the regular season 2-18. Scotland finishes 1-18.

Menno — which trailed 20-13 after one and 32-27 at the half — saw 21 points from Izayah Ulmer, 12 points from Bryce Sattler and 10 rebounds from Erick Buechler.

While the Region 4B bracket hasn’t been finalized, it appears Menno and Scotland will play each other again when postseason action begins Monday, Feb. 26. The Wolves are currently seeded eighth and the Highlanders are ninth.

The top seven seeds are as follows:

  1. Viborg-Hurley
  2. Freeman
  3. Centerville
  4. Gayville-Volin
  5. Alcester-Hudson
  6. Freeman Academy/Marion
  7. Irene-Wakonda
