Larry Zeeb, 81

Larry Marvin Zeeb, age 81, of Menno, S.D., passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the Freeman Regional Hospital. Visitations will be Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Salem Reformed Church in Menno. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 15 at the Salem Reformed Church with Rev. Michael Hecht officiating. A private family burial will be at the Menno Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Rames-Bender American Legion Post #152, Menno, and the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com. Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel of Menno is assisting the family with arrangements. Live streaming of Larry’s service can be found at: https://my.gather.app/remember/larry-zeeb.

Larry was born June 15, 1942 to Marvin and Wilma (Auch) Zeeb in Yankton, S.D.

Larry was united in marriage to the love of his life Marjorie Freier for 60 years. They purchased a farm four miles south of Menno. Along with farming, he worked many other side jobs doing electrical work with his father, Lehr Well Drilling, Menno Mercantile. In 1996, Larry and Carl Zeeb bought Zeeb Construction, known as The Blade Runners. Larry retired from the Blade Runners after 17 enjoyable years.

Larry was well known for many things but here are two that left the biggest impression. One of them being, his big hand wave he would give everyone. The second one would be his big hugs.

Larry is loved, remembered and survived by his loving wife Marjorie; his two daughters Bonnie Bauer of Houston, Texas and Tammy (Jerry) Fischer of Menno; one granddaughter Sydney Simon of Guthrie, Okla.; three brothers: Curtis (Elaine) Zeeb of Lesterville, S.D., Milo Zeeb of Phillip, S.D., Scott (Mindy) Zeeb of O’Neill, Neb., and one sister Renay (Virgil) Souhrada of Tabor, S.D.; plus many nieces and nephews and close dear friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Wilma (Auch) Zeeb and his twin brothers Max and Mark Zeeb.
