WOLVES HOST MENNO RELAYS APRIL 4

Winners include Massey, Schroeder, Scharberg, FHS boys sprint relays

Seventeen girls teams and 18 boys teams converged at the Jim Woehl Athletic Complex in Menno for the first of two home track meets hosted by the Wolves this season — the Menno Relays — last week Thursday, April 4.

Among them were student-athletes from Freeman Academy/Marion, Freeman Public and Menno, and there were several winners:

FA/Marion Tavin Schroeder won both the 1600 and the 3200;

Menno’s Ashton Massey won the 300 hurdles and the triple jump;

Menno’s relay team of Ellyana Ulmer, Nora Robb, Haylee Hall and Zoe Schaeffer won the 4×800;

Freeman sprint relay team of Chris Aasen, Tate Sorensen, Rocky Ammann and Luke Peters won both the 4×100 and the 4×200;

Freeman’s Makenzie Scharberg won the long jump.

The best team finish was the FA/Marion boys who placed fourth; the Menno boys were fifth and the Freeman boys were seventh. For the girls, Menno was sixth in team points, Freeman was seventh and FA/Marion was 17th.
