DR. EPP HONORED BY S.D. COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Dr. Dennis Epp (standing third from left) is honored by Jeff Veltkamp, director of development with the South Dakota Community Foundation, with the organization’s Hometown Hero award for his contributions to the community — and the Freeman Community Foundation (FCF) — over the years and decades. Also pictured is the FCF Board of Directors. The presentation was made inside the conference room inside Merchants State Bank at the FCF board meeting Wednesday night.

Here’s what a press release from the South Dakota Community Foundation said:

The South Dakota Community Foundation recently presented Dr. Dennis & Dorothy Epp with the Hometown Hero award, an SDCF Legacy Society tier.

Dr. Epp, a beloved figure in Freeman, has dedicated his life to serving others through his medical practice and his involvement in various community initiatives. His commitment to improving the lives of those around him embodies the spirit of the Hometown Hero award.

“We are thrilled to recognize Dr. Epp as a Hometown Hero and welcome him into our Legacy Society,” said Jeff Veltkamp, SDCF Director of Development. “His dedication to the people of Freeman is truly inspiring, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.”

Emily Hofer, Chair of Freeman Community Foundation Advisory Council, expressed her admiration for Dr. Epp’s work. “Dr. Epp has been a pillar of our community for decades. His kindness, compassion and unwavering commitment to our town make him a true Hometown Hero.”

No one knows a community better than those who call it home. Since 1987, the SDCF hashad the privilege to collaborate with generous people wanting to give their neighbors a better place to call HOME. Our Hometown Heroes are a special group of people with a passion for helping communities grow and thrive.
