PHOTO OF THE DAY: RACE FOR THE PRIZE

These four runners — Luke Peters, Tate Sorensen, Rocky Ammann and Chris Aasen — were among the Freeman Public boys state qualifiers taking part in practice Monday morning. The girls were scheduled to practice this evening.

Peters, Sorensen, Ammann and Aasen are part of the 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams that are positioned for a strong finish at the 2024 State Track Meet later this week. The quartet is fifth in the 4×100 and second in the 4×200 in all of Class B and will be among several dozen local athletes from Freeman Public, Freeman Academy/Marion and Menno looking to bring home hardware from Sioux Falls. The meet begins Thursday morning and ends Saturday afternoon.
