PHOTO OF THE DAY: WATER ALL AT ONCE

This was the scene in front of Sioux International — the local Case IH dealership located along Highway 81 just south of Freeman — early Monday afternoon, June 17, the result of a massive downpour. As expected, it was a wet start to the week as more than 2 inches of rain had fallen in the overnight hours of Sunday into Monday. The second round arrived with force several hours later and produced excessive standing water in ditches, fields and other low-lying areas. Rainfall reports ranged from 3 inches in Freeman to 3.20 near Menno to 3.5 northeast of Freeman to 3.75 near Olivet, with more on the way.
