PHOTO OF THE DAY: ONCE UPON A TIME

This photo was taken on July 3, 1915 and shows the Independence Day festivities that year. The image was posted by Heritage Hall Museum & Archives on its Facebook page with the accompanying information:

This photo was made looking to the southeast from the west side of the 200 block – today the block that houses Flawless Nail & Hair Salon.
A carousel was placed in the middle of Third Street as it intersects with the east side of Main Street; the area immediately north of what today is the Et Cetera Shoppe. The Wipf Bros building was located on what is now the parking area for AMPI’s maintenance shop.
This photo is from our archives which help document the history of our community. The archives as well as the HHM&A Mercantile are open from 10 to 4 Mondays through Fridays through the month of September.
