STICKS ARE 16U REGION CHAMPIONS

Two days after the Sticks won the Class B title at the 14-and-under level, the 16-and-under Sticks punched their ticket to state with a Region 4 championship. After falling to Garretson 10-3 Tuesday evening, Canistota/Freeman came back to defeat Garretson 14-1 to earn their spot in the eight-team tournament, which will be played in Platte Aug. 9-11.

Pictured are: Standing from left – coaches Corey Gall and Mike Kerrigan, Alaric Knittel, Luke Peters, Riley Gall, Jackson Donlan, Easton Miller, Prayden Acheson, Riley Knittel, Brady Scott, Tannen Auch and coaches Dustin Tschetter and Brad Miller; front from left – Easton Tschetter, Rylen Tommeraus, Logun Pankratz, Oliver Waltner and Tayden Kerrigan.

Scotland/Menno also came away with a championship in its region and will be part of the state tournament in Platte. A bracket has not been released. The 16u Trappers will be featured as Thursday’s Photo of the Day, along with the bracket if it is available.
