This was the scene Monday morning, Aug. 26 as workers with the South Dakota Department of Transportation were busy putting in an all-way stop at the intersection of U.S. Highways 81 and 18. Work began early in the morning and was expected to continue for most of the day — and be finished by the end of it. The four-way stop comes after years of calls for improved safety at the busy intersection, which has featured only stop signs facing west and eastbound traffic.
