PHOTO OF THE DAY: FORMING FREEMAN

This photo was taken in 1968 and shows what was at the time the southeastern corner of Freeman, looking to the southwest. The image is part of a historical presentation scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. today — Sunday, Sept. 15 — at Pioneer Hall. It will be led by Courier Publisher Jeremy Waltner and is being hosted by Heritage Hall Museum & Archives.

Titled “Forming Freeman: From West to East,” the illustrated talk will include a detailed history of how — and why — Freeman grew the way that it did and some of the circumstances surrounding it. Admission will be taken at the door.
