The first installment of the South Dakota’s 2024 prep postseason will be made this week, when Freeman Academy hosts West Central in the quarterfinal round of the Class A soccer playoffs Tuesday, Oct. 8. The match between the No. 3 Bobcats and No. 6 Trojans is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. FA is 7-3-3 while West Central is 4-6-2; the Bobcats defeated the Trojans 5-1 on Aug. 29 and played them to a 2-2 tie on Sept. 9.

The winner of Tuesday’s match will advance to the semifinals on Oct. 12 and play the winner of No. 2 James Valley Christian (10-4-0) and St. Thomas More (5-8-1). The winner of Saturday’s match advances to the state championship in Yankton on Oct. 19.
