PHOTO OF THE DAY: SIGN OF THE TIME

People driving or walking downtown in Menno will notice a new sign and fall decorations on the lot where the 40-foot by 80-foot Menno Museum Building will be constructed. Donna Waltner of Printed Impressions made the sign and Craig Schaeffer of C&H Construction installed the sign. The purpose of the sign is to keep people informed on the progress of fundraising for the new building.

As of Oct. 16, $12,462.68 has been raised from a Golden West grant, donations and fundraisers. This amount is almost halfway to meeting the $25,000 challenge from an anonymous donor. Once the $25,000 has been matched, there will be $75,000 for the new building. Donations can be mailed to Menno Museum 512 S. 5th St., Menno, SD 57045.

Those who would like a tour of the Preszler House should contact Donna Zeeb at 605-387-5577 or Roberta Stoebner at 605-387-5642. Due to safety concerns, tours of the Schmitt House aren’t being offered. However, a virtual tour of the Schmitt House will be available later this year. Watch The Courier and Facebook for information about the premiere showing of the video which includes interviews with Marilee Hauck and Donna Zeeb and the former owners of The Hutchinson Herald, Bill and Judy Headley.
